It is not usually necessary to use any command line arguments with DT Max. The DT Max login screen contains all the options you need to customize the way you run the program. The Windows registry stores the last-used value for each of these options so that the next time you run the program, it remembers how you used it last.

However, should you wish to create shortcuts to run DT Max in a specific way, the following command line arguments can be used:

Argument Meaning
/T1 T1 mode
/T2 T2 mode
/T3 T3 mode
/T4 T5013 mode
/U set user ID to ...
/P set password to ...
/C set current client number to ...
/GO bypass login screen and go directly to running the program with the remembered settings or these command line arguments
/GOREINDEX bypass login screen and go directly to reindexing the database (using either the last-used database or the one specified by the argument /F) [use only if reindexing from the maintenance button on the initialization screen will not work]
/LE language English
/LF language French
/Y set tax year to ...
/F set database location to ... (no spaces)

If, for example, you wanted to run in T1 mode, in 1998, your user ID was "jean", your password was "xy999", your database was located at "D:\TAXDATA" and you wanted to start working with client number 112233 without passing through the login screen, then your shortcut might contain the following:

      c:\Program Files\DT Max\DTMax.exe /T1 /Y1998 /Ujean /Pxy999
      /Fd:\taxdata /c112233 /GO

Note that the arguments can be entered in upper or lower case, in any order, and preceded by either - or /.
